Car-free Fridays on Main St in summer

Main Street would get so much more pedestrian traffic on Friday nights if we could have an “open streets” program when the weather is nice. As of now, Main Street is not somewhere my friends and I want to go on weekend evenings with our kids. There’s not enough room for the kids to move around and there is too much noise and exhaust pollution from loud motorcycles driving back and forth and other car traffic. If we could have once a week car-free evenings, the street would come alive with families who would bike over and spend the whole evening on Main St having dinner, drinks, ice cream, shopping, etc.
