We could also play around with Leading Pedestrian Interval (gives pedestrian a head start before cars are able to go, establishing presence) and/or full Pedestrian Interval (similar to Broad on the Northside Downtown, cars wait till ped signage has finished).

Eaton @ 8th should be no right on red

As a pedestrian, it's nice that there are crosswalks and walk signals at 8th and Eaton. Unfortunately, because of cars making right on red turns, even when the light is faivorable for crossing, one can never really be sure cars are will stop/yield.
