Turn signal: Union @ 8th

Union, traveling west to turn on 8th (south) has a turn lane but no turn signal.
When in that turn lane (facing west), in my car or on a bicycle, the line of sight is blocked for oncoming (eastbound) traffic by cars in the opposing turn lane (Union east to 8th north). I am exactly average height for a woman.
There is already a turn lane, and there are turn signals in the other 3 directions.
