The City of Bethlehem envisions a future where streets are designed for people, not just for cars. To make this vision a reality, the City is creating a Complete Streets Plan to make our roads safer, more comfortable, and more accessible for everyone, whether you walk, bike, take transit, or drive.

How does this relate to the project along Broad Street?
As a major downtown commercial street that serves people taking all forms of transportation, Broad Street is a great example of a Complete Streets project that will incorporate separated bike lanes, curb extensions, bus stops, and medians. The Complete Streets Plan and the Broad Street project are designed to work hand in hand, ensuring that the improvements along Broad Street align with the citywide vision and design principles being developed through the plan.
Stefko Boulevard Improvement Project
The City of Bethlehem envisions a future where streets are designed for people, not just cars. Stefko Boulevard was identified as a corridor of need through various internal and external engagement efforts, including the Bethlehem Area School District, Pembroke neighborhood, and the Bethlehem community at large. Stefko offers regional connectivity to key destinations, has seen a large number of severe crashes, is on the bike and bus network, and is due for resurfacing.
