Land Use and Green Space Implementation Committee
The use and distribution of Bethlehem’s land affect all GHGs emitted in the city. Energy consumption in buildings depends on the density and distribution of those buildings. The first objective of the strategies outlined in this section is to reshape the built environment to optimize space used for buildings and maximize opportunities for short daily trips and travel mode options. The second objective of this section is to maximize Bethlehem’s green space—its parks, trees, woodlands, wetlands, and other ecosystems. Maintaining and expanding these ecosystems is a critical goal of this plan, as is converting landscape management to organic regenerative methods.
The Land Use and Green Space Implementation Committee meets with the ideas and goals from this section in mind.
