Accessibility for people with disabilities

We are frequently in the downtown area and continue to face hazards for our son who uses a wheelchair. Parking is limited and getting around is difficult.

While ensuring that all sidewalks are smooth and clear for wheelchair use would be the dream, I feel there could at least be designated wheelchair paths (certain sections of roads that connect different directions) that are a priority to continuously remain usuable for wheelchair users. And then a plan to make sure all sidewalks are usuable and hazard free.

That way, even if not all the sidewalks are fixed, people would have known way to get around safely instead of the only option of being forced to go in to the roadway.

Especially when there are events and not enough accessible parking. Parking anywhere else and trying to navigate the sidewalks is nearly impossible and very dangerous especially at night.
