I second this idea. The Southside Greenway is a wonderful piece of infrastructure that provides a place for pedestrians and cyclists to commute with little interference from cars. Does the greenway receive winter maintenance? If so, is there a way to prioritize or work with local organizations to clear it faster?

@Corey Gray The Fahy bridge pedestrian walkway was again completely covered in snow and ice today, doesn’t look like an attempt was made to make it safe. Why bother apologizing

@Sonya H, I have reported the conditions on your behalf using the Bethlehem Service Center email. I am not a part of the Department who oversees snow removal, so yes, I do apologize for the lack of attention these spaces receive, as I am not personally responsible for why they look like this. If you are walking nearby city hall at any point this week, feel free to stop by and voice your concerns and experience in person. Thank you and have a wonderful day!

@Sonya H to follow up, the Bethlehem Service Center responded that the bridges are being cleared today. The grounds crew mentioned that shoveling the walkways happens the day after the storm, since all available City employees from Public Works are out plowing & salting the day of the storm. I was not aware of that, so I figured it could be helpful for future walks after a snow event. I hope for your return home the bridge is salted and safe. Corey

@Sonya H Who do I voice my concerns to? The receptionist at city hall?

COMPLETELY AGREE. This morning I walked across the Fahy bridge and it was very very icy. I passed an elderly woman crossing the bridge at the same time and we both shook our heads in disbelief.
